PREPARED FOR ANY EVENTUALITY: FAIL-SAFE BRAKES

Spring-applied brakes and permanent magnet brakes are closed-current brakes that are characterised by the fail-safe principle. As soon as the voltage drops or in the event of a power failure, the brakes are activated and ensure that the drive is fully and safely stopped or braked. In the case of a spring-applied brake, the spring forces act on the armature, which brings the rotating brake pad to a standstill and safely holds it in place. On the other hand, in the case of a permanent magnet brake, the armature is attracted by the permanent magnet.
