KEB receives Supplier Excellence Award from Manitowoc
Award for over 20 years of cooperation
Manitowoc, one of the world's leading manufacturers of cranes, has honoured KEB France with the Supplier Excellence Award. The award recognises KEB's importance as a reliable supplier of high-quality drive technology. The two companies have been working together successfully for over 20 years in the field of Potain tower cranes (a Manitowoc brand). Thomas Brinkmann, CEO and shareholder of the KEB Group, and Jean-Yves Geneste, Managing Director of KEB France, accepted the award on behalf of the company at the ceremony in Charlieu (near Lyon).
“With KEB, we have not just a supplier, but a true partner at our side. KEB’s frequency inverter technology plays a key role in the efficient operation of our cranes. One advantage is that we always have a contact person at KEB and can discuss and implement individual solutions on an eye-to-eye basis. We look forward to continuing our cooperation and realising further joint projects,” says Roger Knecht, Vice President of Global Purchasing at Manitowoc.

Potain, a Manitowoc brand, is known for tower cranes and self-erecting cranes that are in demand all over the world. Potain cranes are renowned for their lifting capacity and innovative designs. The portfolio includes more than 60 types of tower cranes, which are used in the construction of skyscrapers and residential buildings. These tasks require frequency converter technology that covers a wide power range. To date, around 38,000 COMBIVERT F5 frequency converters in the power range from 7.5 to 250 kW have been delivered and installed.
Thomas Brinkmann said at the event: “Manitowoc and KEB share the same quality standards and service-oriented approach. This foundation has enabled a strong partnership that has grown over many years. We are therefore particularly pleased that our COMBIVERT F6 Drive Controller series has been chosen as the successor to the F5. This paves the way for continued successful cooperation in the future.”
The Supplier Excellence Award was awarded for the fourth time this year. In addition to representatives from KEB, long-standing Manitowoc partners from the areas of purchasing, operations & engineering were also present at the award ceremony which took place in Charlieu (between Lyon and Clermont-Fd).
