Scope 2.0 now available in COMBIVIS 6

Expansion package for analysing drive data

COMBIVIS 6 is the central software tool for operating, commissioning, diagnosing and managing drive components from KEB Automation. With the Scope 2.0 expansion package, COMBIVIS is now complemented by a modern and versatile analysis tool with new functionalities. It offers maximum flexibility and precision for the evaluation of drive data. This allows drive states to be optimally monitored and downtimes to be reduced, with positive effects on efficiency.

Scope is an established tool within the COMBIVIS 6 PC software when it comes to precisely analysing drives and making complex processes transparent. As an integrated digital multi-channel oscilloscope, Scope enables internal signals from a frequency inverter or servo amplifier to be recorded and visualised in real time. This provides a deep understanding of the dynamic behaviour of a drive system that goes far beyond simple monitoring functions. Scope really comes into its own during commissioning: parameter changes can be checked immediately, control loops can be fine-tuned, and even the smallest deviations between target and actual values become clearly visible.

The tool is also indispensable for troubleshooting, as it reliably visualises sporadic events with a trigger that would remain hidden during normal operation. “Scope is an important analytical companion that provides valuable insights in both service and development and significantly increases efficiency in diagnosis and optimisation. With version 2.0 of Scope, KEB goes beyond the existing functions and creates further exciting added value for plant and machine construction,” says Tobias Wenneker, Product Manager Drives at KEB.

One of the new features of the analysis tool is the option of flexible recording. This means that data recording can be paused or locked at any time, and recordings can be created from selected parameters. Precise snapshots are generated using the intelligent online trigger function. The trigger works either via the computer's clock time or via defined bits. Optimised axis display, clear cursor information and curve overlays for easy comparisons are part of Scope's improved visualisation.

“The ability to overlay curves from different recordings makes comparison particularly convenient – the ideal prerequisite for analysis and optimisation,” says Wenneker. Fast device changeover and exclusive communication and write access for efficient working create the framework for seamless device integration. The offline scope functionality with high temporal resolution offers optimal support for detailed analyses of demanding drive tasks.

Additional packages in COMBIVIS

The Scope 2.0 extension package is one of a series of selected additions for COMBIVIS 6. Packages can be chosen according to individual requirements in order to tailor the software to specific applications. The package is then integrated into the COMBIVIS 6 environment and linked to the core functionalities. For example, the dashboard provides an extension that allows a clear display of the Drive Controller S6 and F6 and the relevant operating parameters. A wizard for commissioning a servo pump can also be integrated into COMBIVIS 6 to enable targeted and easy use of the functions. Device naming can also be a useful addition – for example, when a machine with one control system and several drive controllers is put into operation. By using the package, the devices no longer need to be named individually in the COMBIVIS project.
