Set up for the future: New COO at KEB Automation

Gerald Müller has been the new Chief Operating Officer at KEB Automation, system provider of automation and drive solutions, since April 2025. The 44-year-old will be responsible for management, particularly in the areas of production and procurement. He succeeds Ralf Lutter, who is moving into an advisory role after 37 years with the company, including more than 25 years in management. In his new role, Müller will complement the existing management board consisting of Thomas Brinkmann (CEO and shareholder), Vittorio Tavella (CFO) and Wolfgang Wiele (CTO).

“I am looking forward to the new challenge and would like to express my gratitude for the trust placed in me. My goal is to work with the specialists and managers to further optimise the value chain of the group. By increasing the digitalisation and automation of central processes, we are adapting to changing market requirements,” says Müller.

Gerald Müller has been with KEB since 2005, starting in industrial engineering, where he became head of the department a few years later. In 2012, the electrical engineering graduate became production manager for electronics at KEB's main site in Barntrup. As the new COO of KEB Automation, he will take over responsibility for electronics, brake and clutch production. Industrial engineering, service, materials management, digitalisation, production, maintenance and occupational safety will also fall within his responsibilities.

Thomas Brinkmann, CEO and shareholder of the KEB Group: ‘With Gerald Müller, an exceptionally experienced colleague is taking over the management of the production division who knows the internal processes and always has an eye for potential optimisations. I look forward to continuing to work with him. I would like to express my special thanks to Ralf Lutter, who has contributed significantly to the company's success through his decades of work and has had a lasting impact on KEB in many ways.’
